"Colour from the Heart"

The UniLodz Library encourages you to join a charity event that combines a love of books with helping children. This year, we are supporting the children of the "Krwinka" Foundation for Children with Cancer by donating items that will help them in their classes and creative activities.

How does it work?

We're preparing bookshelves for you with the UniLodz Library duplicates – you can find them next to the Lending Section. Just bring one of the following items:

  • a set of modelling clay
  • a set of coloured pencils

For every gift you bring, you can receive two books. There's no limit – every item counts! Remember that donated items must be new and in their original packaging. The campaign will run from 13 to 27 April 2026, during the UniLodz Library opening hours.

Why are we collecting modelling clay and crayons?

Modelling clay is especially important for younger children (preschool and grades 1-3) as it supports manual dexterity and stimulates creativity. Coloured pencils, on the other hand, are a universal everyday item – used both during educational activities and during moments of relaxation.

Thanks to these simple yet important gifts, young patients can participate in art and learning activities, express their emotions and bring a little joy to the difficult reality of hospital life.

“Krwinka” Foundation for Children with Cancer

The Foundation supports children with cancer and haematological diseases and their families by co-financing treatment and rehabilitation, providing psychological and educational support and providing social assistance. It also organises numerous team-building initiatives and charitable events, educating the public about cancer, transplants and bone marrow donation.

Join us and show how much good can be achieved with simple gestures!
