Elsevier Open Access Publishing Programme under the National Licence

The Elsevier Open Access publishing programme was resumed on 20 May 2026 with a new pool of 1,084 articles. Articles eligible for the programme will be those accepted for publication in 2026 after the agreement with Elsevier has been signed, regardless of the date of submission to the journal.

An announcement regarding the resumption of the Elsevier Open Access publishing programme (in Polish) has been published on the Virtual Library of Science (WBN) website.

In 2026, the programme covers 1,120 hybrid journals (excel, 51 kB) from seven thematic ScienceDirect collections:ct:

  • Biochemistry,
  • Genetics and Molecular Biology,
  • Computer Science,
  • Engineering,
  • Health Sciences,
  • Immunology and Microbiology,
  • Mathematics and Physics and Astronomy;
  • as well as journals from the Lancet group.

The national Elsevier licence agreement covers the publication of a limited number of articles (in 2026, the pool amounts to 1,084 articles), which are exempt from the Article Processing Charge (APC).
