As of 26 June 2025, reports can include articles published in the traditional model – the so-called closed model.
The new rules will apply to both new calls to be announced in September (based on the Regulation of the NCN Director no. 39/2025) and ongoing projects (based on the Director’s letter of 26 June 2025).
At the same time, paths that facilitate the provision of open access will continue to be promoted, in particular the use of the so-called green open access, i.e. depositing versions of the manuscript in recognised subject-specific or institutional repositories.
